Digital Design Lead at USA TODAY Network Design Center: 2019 – Present
I collaborate with editors, designers, reporters, producers, photographers and developers at USA TODAY and across its network of 200+ products to craft compelling storytelling experiences on multiple platforms. I mentor and train designers, manage and art direct projects and develop the design of digital and social elements. I also helped coordinate the USA TODAY premium launch into subscriber-only content, and coached designers who worked on the project. I was a judge for Society for News Design's 2021 international print competition. Former Code Louisville student.

I designed print and digital features content for the 100+ USA TODAY Network newspapers, including the Louisville Courier Journal, The Poughkeepsie Journal and The Journal News in New York, as well as Lafayette Journal & Courier and Lafayette Magazine in Indiana. In addition to curating the design studio’s social media accounts, I was part of a pioneer digital team for the USA TODAY Network and a member of a Young Audiences team in Louisville. I also gave a talk about social media design at the 2018 National College Media Convention.
Features Editor at The Decatur Daily: 2007 – 2012 Decatur, AL
I designed, edited, assigned and wrote engaging packages that impacted readers, and covered everything from home decor, food, events and entertainment to fashion, travel, religion and people. I managed reporters, freelance columnists and interns, developed story ideas and regular features, collaborated with editors and photographers and met tight deadlines. I also started the department’s Twitter account.

I selected photos, edited stories and designed the front page, national and local news sections, on deadline. I wrote headlines and cutlines and edited local and wire stories according to AP style.
